This course integrates perspectives of interactional sociolinguistics, pragmatics, linguistic anthropology,sociolinguistics (language communication) in relation to social psychology and social issues to discuss our use of language in various contexts, including cross-gender, cross-age scenarios, love seeking and the media. This module is delivered mainly through lectures. Students are required to share their interesting observations in class. They are expected to complete written/oral presentations at the mid-term and final exam to show their understanding of any taught themes in a systematic and organized manner.
