Students in the course will learn about relevant bioinformatic principles as well as how to use a variety of applications for bioinformatic analysis. We will discuss tools and techniques using biological data for bacterial genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics, and species identification. Using a web-based analytical tool, the course will mix academic lectures with practical tasks. Online tools for analyzing and interpreting molecular data will be available to the students.
