Taiwan is located in the subtropical district. The organic matter in the soil decomposes quickly because of the hot and humid climate as a result to the poor soil fertility. In the past, the green manure crops or compost were used to improve soil fertility and maintain agricultural production, however, the chemical fertilizers were widely used recently. Although the application of chemical fertilizers will promote the increment of crops yield, however, there will be negative effects such as soil decline and deterioration of the natural ecological environment. This course mainly teaches students the production and appropriate fertilization of organic fertilizer. It will make the sustainable agriculture.
