Malay is the most influential language in Southeast Asia. It is also one of the five most frequently used languages in the world, and it is now widely offered in many universities across the world. However, the Malay language has not yet received the attention it deserves in Taiwan. In addition to being the national language of Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei, Malay has also become one of the official languages of Singapore. Compared with English, Malay grammar and pronunciation are relatively simple. The aim of this course is to teach basic Malaysian pronunciation and grammar. In addition, students are expected to enhance their understanding of Malaysian culture and social behavior.
