This is a course particularly designed to help language-major students to understand issues related to language behaviors and communicaiton strategies as demonstrated in social interacitons with others. Topics to be introduced include how people develop a conversation, how we communicate in conflicts and how to effectively listen to others to enhance social relationships, communication in love, intergenerational communication and social media communication. Non-English major students are very welcomed to take this course and your feedback can be in Chinese (though English is preferred) if you are not confident in using English. The main learning goal is to make sure that you know how to put theories taught in class into practice and most important of all, you are given opportunities to learn more about your communication behaviors.
