The content and teaching-pedagogical approach adopted encourages students to pro-
actively engage in the basic listening skills. Topics and in-class activities help
students to gain confidence in the use of normative language to express themselves
and present thoughts. In addition to enlarging vocabulary for listening and speaking,
the students are expected to acquire accurate collocation and develop awareness of
coherence and cohesive in speaking. These are prerequisite for preparing the students
for EMI courses.
