The arrangement of this course is to let the students understand the knowledge about animal behavior and welfare. This course is on introduction to the study of general concepts of animal behavior. It is offered to cover topics such as: what is behavior, behavior as adaptation, simple behavior, biological rhythms, sign stimuli, the genetic, physiological readiness, learning, imprinting, migration, social behavior, communication, dominance, territoriality, sexual behavior, displacement activity, and sociobiology, the influence of stress on farm animals, animal welfare, animal welfare and industry, and specific topic of animal welfare on different farm animals.
