Course contents include: Introduction : history and importance of crop breeding, Genetic background of breeding, Self-incompatibility and male sterility, Crop introduction, Pure-line breeding, Selection, Hybridization, Back cross, F1 hybrid breeding, Breeding for disease resistance, Interspecific hybridizations, Breeding for insect resistance, Mutation breeding and Genetic engineering in crop improvement.
