課程大綱Course Description：

馬來語是東南亞最具影響力的語言，也是世界上使用最多的五種語言之一。很多國外大學現在都開設馬來語課程，但是馬來語在台灣卻一直沒有受到應有的重視。馬來語不僅是馬來西亞的國語，也是印尼和汶萊的國語，同時也是新加坡的官方語言之一。馬來語學習起來比英文容易。主要的是馬來語在文法及發音上，都不像英文那麼複雜。本課程教授基礎的馬來語之發音和文法，藉此增進台灣學生對馬來西亞文化和馬來西亞社會的認識。

English Outline：

Malay is the most influential language in Southeast Asia. It is also one of the five most frequently used languages in the world, and it is now widely offered in many universities across the world. However, the Malay language has not yet received the attention it deserves in Taiwan. In addition to being the national language of Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei, Malay has also become one of the official languages of Singapore. Compared with English, Malay grammar and pronunciation are relatively simple. The aim of this course is to teach basic Malaysian pronunciation and grammar. In addition, students are expected to enhance their understanding of Malaysian culture and social behavior.
