課程大綱Course Description：

口譯為一複雜學科，本系共開設2門。第一門為必修基礎課，主要目的如下：

1. 幫助學生瞭解口譯的歷史、種類與特色。
2. 培養學生從事基礎口譯所需具備之能力，如大聲朗讀、積極聆聽、記憶力、口語表達能力。
3. 透過口譯技巧訓練，培養學生廣泛閱讀的習慣、邏輯思維與穩健台風。
4. 傳授中英數字轉換、短逐步、視譯等技巧。

English Outline：

Interpreting is a complex field of studies. This required basic course is aimed to:

1. enlighten the students about the history and types of interpreting and their distinct features.
2. cultivate in the students the abilities required for basic interpreting, such as reading aloud, active listening, memory retention and retrieval, and expression skills.
3. help students get into the habit of extensive reading and train their logic of thinking and stage manner (how to overcome stage fright) through basic interpreting skills.
4. teach Chinese-English number conversion, short CI and sight translation techniques.
