課程大綱Course Description:
本課程針對英檢中高級或以上學生,旨在訓練學生批判閱讀與思考,並培養完整表達之綜合論述能力。選讀教材多元,並回應聯合國永續發展目標(SDGS)重要社會或全球議題,如公平正義、難/移民、氣候變遷等,精選包括書報篇章、時事評論或創作敘述等,不同面向之經典或當代閱讀素材。期能借由分析閱讀與討論,增強學生文本理解與字彙運用能力,更重要的是提升國際觀,強化組織思考,能對重要議題表達獨立觀點之論述能力。
English Outline:
Critical Reading and Expression is an advanced English course designed for upper intermediate or higher level students to improve their reading skills and cultivate a critical thinking mindset— through analytical reading, active discussions/debates, with an emphasis on argument analysis and information literacy. Students will learn to 1) to interpret and evaluate a variety of topics; 2) to shape their own points of view by incorporating different perspectives; and 3) develop intellectual flexibility and tolerance for ambiguity. Materials used in this course will cover a wild variety of topics, including some cross-cutting issues addressed in The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).
