課程大綱Course Description：

本課程在於使學生能實際操作鑑別方法。讓學生瞭解基本的樹木生長和木材形成，實際觀察闊葉樹材和針葉樹材的巨觀和微觀解剖結構。繪製木材細胞類型、組織及變異，進而討論木材品質的概念和含義。另外，讓學生觀察及分辨世界各國及台灣的商用木材。希望培養學生木材鑑別之能力，使木材能依照其性質做最好的利用。

English Outline：

This course is designed to enable students to practice identification methods. Let students understand tree growth and wood formation. Observe the macroscopic and microanatomical structures of broadleaf and coniferous wood. The students need to draw the wood cell type, organization and variation, and then discuss the concept and meaning of wood quality. In addition, students will be able to observe and distinguish the commercial wood from various countries and Taiwan. We hope that students can learn the ability of wood identification in this course. They will make the best use of wood according to its nature.

本科目教學目標Course Objectives：

配合社會環境變遷及產業發展脈動，強化優質綠環境與生態材料－木質資源材料之物理及化學利用技術之改良與運用，及其應用於與吾人生活環境息息相關之木建築結構設計、空間設計、家具設計、生活產品設計與木竹籐工藝設計等之教學，落實學生實習操作及實務技巧，培育「適才適用」之木質資源材料性質與加工之基礎理論，並結合科學理論與文化內涵於設計創作實務之運用能力，以達技術職業教育之目標。 大學部：訓練學生具備林產加工利用及其設計理論與實務技術，培育兼具中、小型企業經營及國際化理念之人才。
