課程大綱Course Description：

本課程旨在培養學生具備當代國際關係的概念，尤其是身處全球化的時代與今日的台灣所需要特別關注。課程設計以國際關係理論為主軸，佐以影片之實例介紹及現實國際社會所發生的事件，說明國際關係的發生與進行，並著重於「和平」與「衝突」的面向，以及在「全球化」下的國際關係發展，以期讓學生在理論的引導下，能獲得全面性的瞭解，同時亦獲得實際有用的知識。

English Outline：

This course provides an introduction to some of the major theoretical perspectives for studying how states and peoples behave and interact. No prior background in international relations is assumed or required. Students will acquire some basic analytical tools for understanding and explaining a wide array of international phenomena, including wars, environmental degradation, alliance behavior, international norms, international conflicts, geopolitics, international political economy and others. Our goal is to help students better understand why we observe certain issues in the international arena, and to help you devise policy responses that are consistent with international realities and thus more likely to succeed.
