課程大綱Course Description：

大一英文提供四技學生在奠定學生英文之基本閱讀與寫作能力，並於期末舉行全校會 考，以鑑定其修習之成果。大一英文(1)課程著重在字彙的加強，文章結構的分析、閱讀 策略的運用、及文法的瞭解與應用。學生們經由這些方面的學習研究，徹底瞭解以及實 際的演練，即可學到豐富的英文知識，以達到改進並提升英文程度的目的。

English Outline：

The course aims to develop students’ basic reading and writing skills in English. A unified final exam is offered to evaluate students’ progress. The curricula of Freshman English (1) (Level 1) places emphasis on the reinforcement of vocabulary, the analysis and understanding of sentence structures, the application of reading strategies, and the understanding of English grammar. Through study, reflection on language and application of course material, students can learn the fundamentals of the English language and so improve their skills in this language.

The overall purpose of this course is 1. to improve students’reading and writing skills necessary for everyday living and for classroom, academic, and cultural situations 2. to practice and improve students’ reading and writing skills required for academic interactions 3. to strengthen students’ ability to monitor and evaluate their own progress 4. to improve students’ self-confidence in their ability to communicate 5. to address their problem areas in pronunciation
