The objective of this course is to study the dynamic response of structures encountered in
civil engineering. The course follows from the introduction to single degree of freedom system. The essential characteristics of a dynamic problem including the nature of dynamic loads are explained. A detailed treatment of a multi-degree-of freedom is presented. Free vibration response to harmonic , periodic and impulsive loading are discussed. Selected problems encountered in civil engineering applications are solved. An introduction to earthquake engineering and wind vibrations is also presented. Grading is based on assignments and examinations. |
