The course will focus on forage quality evaluation. It will include the following topics,the importance of forage evaluation for humans and animals; Animal performance as the criterion for feed evaluation; Estimating the energy value and digestbility of forages; Estimating the protein value of forages; Enzyme techniques for estimate digestibility; The in situ techniques for the estimation of forage degradability; Cumulative gas-production techniques for forage evaluation; The importance of dry matter intake. |
