課程大綱Course Description：

本課程的目的在於提供學生對於動物寄生蟲學的基本認識。課程範圍包括動物原蟲、吸蟲、條蟲、線蟲、鉤頭蟲類、節肢動物外寄生蟲等。內容則牽涉到寄生蟲之分類、宿主特異性、形態解剖、發育史、病因學以及控制方法等。課程結束後學生必須獲得的知識如：動物寄生蟲病發生的病因、如何去做蟲體的分類、在感染動物體內外的生活史以及如何控制與預防寄生蟲病的發生等。

English Outline：

The course aims to provide a general introduction to the biology of parasites in animal. It covers the major parasitic groups, parasitic protozoa, monogeneans, digeneans, cestodes, nematodes, acanthocephalans, and parasitic arthropods, including taxonomy, host specificity, morphology, life cycles, etiological, and treatment. By the end of the course students should have gained knowledge and understanding of the causative organism, an understanding of the major classification different between important parasites, detailed knowledge of the life cycles of a range of parasitic organisms affecting domestic and wild animals, and understanding of the problems encountered by parasites to their hosts and how these may be overcome.
