This course aims to enhance students’ English reading proficiency by practicing a variety of reading strategies, such as skimming, scanning, identifying main ideas, and recognizing cause–effect relationships. The course will also expand students’ vocabulary, provide a more solid foundation of grammar knowledge, and foster a deeper understanding of sentence structures. By completing this course, students are expected to reach the B1 reading level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The knowledge and skills gained will also support their preparation for international English proficiency tests. In addition, this course emphasizes the development of sentence- and pattern-based reading and writing skills. Students will be guided to become familiar with common sentence structures and vocabulary usage, enabling them to apply appropriate words and phrases and to use grammar accurately when expressing ideas. Through sentence-level and paragraph-level practice, students will gradually build a solid foundation for clear English expression, paving the way for more advanced writing and communication tasks.
