This course aims to discuss the chemical composition and biological properties of major bee products such as honey, royal jelly, propolis, bee pollen, and bee venom. A detailed explanation of the latest findings on the chemical and biological properties of those bee products and the beneficial effects of bee products on human health will be done during the classes. Bee products are rich in several nutrients such as sugars, minerals, proteins, free amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, and polyphenols that seem to be closely related to their biological functions. The effects of these products on nutrition and other health benefits will be discussed.
