This course covers three major topics in business and management communication:
1. Key communication skills and practice for job-seeking scenarios
2. Discussing various business management issues in English, including marketing, advertising design, management strategy development and environmental sustainability
3. Understanding basic principles of business communication
The course primarily focuses on speaking, with listening and writing activities to support understanding of basic knowledge and contexts related to business and management communication in English. Weekly participation and performance in class activities will be the main basis for assessment. Students are encouraged to attend regularly and actively participate, regardless of their English proficiency level.
No textbook is required; the instructor will provide online-handouts. The course is highly interactive and involves group activities, not lecture-based. However, exams will focus on group oral presentations, with the oral exam schedule to be announced based on the number of students and group arrangements.
