This is one of the required social work core courses for the second year (4-year) of the undergraduate program, respectively. We not only will learn the meaning of social work practicum as well as the social welfare organizations, but will increase self-awareness, explore individual interest and commitment to social work, and improve coping strategies in the face of pressure during social work practicum. In addition, we will exercise application and interview related to social work practicum.
Students are required to submit individual written papers regarding résumé, biography, reflection on agency visits, and proposal for social work practicum. Lastly, the final-term individual assignment expects each student to learn the subjects, content and service model that a particular social work agency serves, and to contemplate potential challenges encountered and responses.
