Introduction of Social Work is one of the required social work core courses of undergraduate program, necessary for being qualified for taking the social work licensed exam. Three credits in total, taught in the first semester of the first year. We will learn social work profession, its developmental context, helping process and methods, as well as its practice fields in order to deepen the commitment as a genuine social work practitioner. In addition, we will exercise critical thinking to consider the role of social work in the society, make connection between individual and social work profession, and explore individual interest area of practice. Besides final exam, this course also includes volunteering in social welfare agencies and group presentations.
