This course discusses ex situ conservation issues such as rescue and rehabilitation procedures, wild animal captive management, and post-release monitoring. Important topics include rescue and transportation procedures that meet animal welfare requirements, captive breeding, appropriate husbandry techniques for behavioral and environmental enrichment as well as pre-release training and post-release monitoring practices. The course introduces the cases of species rescued in Pingtung Rescue Center, such as avian, reptiles, carnivores, and pangolins.
