Nowadays, information has replaced the important role of energy to be the key of business competition. Application of information technology is no longer a technical issue only. Facing with social and legal issues due to the development of technology, information professionals should prepare themselves for in-depth understanding of related problems.   In addition to weekly lectures, group discussion and case study will be used throughout the semester to enhance participation of the class members. The following topics will be covered: brief introduction of laws, regulations relating to the using of WWW, intellectual property rights, computer crime, legal issues relating to software development and hardware purchasing, ethical issues, laws relating to the regulatory of information industry, legal issues relating to marketing and competition in the information industry, and principles of contract preparation.
