River training and flood control is one of the important tasks in soil and water conservation. Basically, a river consists of two erodible stream banks and a stream bed. Both boundaries are considered as loose boundaries. Therefore, the course will initiate the discussion from the view point of Hydraulics. The entire course will cover: basic characteristics and river morphology, theory of uniform flow, gradually varied flow, and water-surface profile. HEC-RAS will be added to the course depending on the progress of lecture and learning.
